GPU Development
GPU work at UWA in collaboration with CIT:
The UWA group, in collaboration with the Caltech LIGO group, has been developing graphics-processing-unit (GPU) acceleration for inspiral search pipelines. Significant speed-ups have been achieved.

A paper was submitted to CQG: "Application of Graphics Processing Units to Search Pipeline for Gravitational Waves from Coalescing Binaries of Compact Objects", Shin Kee Chung et al, http://arxiv.org/abs/0906.4175
Some of our development should be useful to the entire community. With help of Adam Mercer and Kipp Cannon, our LAL implementation of CUDA FFT is available in LAL, any interested ones can use it provided GPUs are available. The GPU-LAL implementation in chi-square tests for inspiral searches will also be available in LAL. Adam will push these patches onto the git master any day now.
